Dookie Stains

What was once used to pay homage to those who suffered in the olden days, then used by rappers to pay respect, then what "we" then used to pay ode to the golden era of hip hop has now...well for quite some time now has become a corner shop, every Mr Patel has one.
Rope chains (dookie) have never been a part of street wear culture, and possibly never will.
The rope chain was symbolism of the struggle that black people faced in America, the act of creating a a chain that was virtually a rope immersed in gold, was a form of them taking back power from it (kinda like Nas with the new album Nigga) ...come on be serious, why would a black man so proudly wear a rope around their neck...
it was all about paying dues to those who died in the senseless and uncalled act of slavery (and blacks don't get on your high horses to, yes we suffered a great deal of injustice for hundreds of years but it was not only us who suffered, Arabs you suffered also but of course this never comes to light, especially not now in this and age...also there was white slavery...also known as the sexual slavery has taken place...but that wasn't that serious..ahem)
Like everything in this world as the re-emergence took place by those who knew the history or the partial history the "monkey see-monkey doo-ers" caught wind and started following a trend, following something that they have absolutely no clue about. All they know is that their now "favourite old skool" rappers wore one, and seeing as how these followers lifestyle is completely retro, they must get one also...what's next are you going to get legwarmers? oh my bad that's been done....erm...how about getting a betamax & a jerri curl? since you're retro I'm sure the DVD is something that hasn't been written in your bible...VHS & Betamax fuck the world.
So go ahead enjoy your urban outfitters priced "gold" rope chain, however don't forget to scrub the back of your neck hard, I heard that green stain is hard to get out.
Oh shit...I can't wait for the dashiki's to make a resurgence

Don't forget polka-dots and high-top fades. I'm talking like the kid from kid 'n' play joints. I'm waiting for those to come back so I can laugh heartily. Oh, and tutus. That Teyana Taylor broad wears tutus and spandex and shit.
