A couple of days back, the first close up shot of the Nikes that Kanye West wore at the 2008 Grammy's started to circulate on the internet.
Today was my first time viewing this image. Whilst others revel in euphoria, already going through their argos catalogues looking for what sleeping bag to cop for the camp out, I see a sneaker that if it wasn't created with Kanye in partnership, it would be berated like the Yums (which is actually shit).
I'm sure that Nike & Kanye have been exchanging ideas for more than a year now, remember the talks of the both of them finally releasing the McFly's, I sure was anticipating that, but Nike however once again issued that McFly's will never come out. However there still would be a collab with Kanye.
Now with Kanye being "fashionably artistic" you would expect a decent pair of sneakers to drop.
Instead dude is also sampling on the footwear market, with the Nike Air Yeezy
(say this out loud, sounds stupid, don't you agree?).
I see a; RBK Ice Cream Boardflip toebox, Jordan 3's sole, Ato Matsumoto Cow Hide Strap & a Jordan 5 tongue, no doubt about it the back is probably stolen from another sneaker.
But hey regardless this ugly sneaker will sell with its unique selling point being that it's prefabricated with leather & that it's the Kanye sneaker. Might I add that the colour way is Whoopi Goldberg ( I know no one finds her beautiful).

I didn't notice the stuff about stealing from other sneakers, but I definitely didn't feel them. As a frequenter of Kanye's blog, I went to the post about the shoes to be bombarded with a ton of "sick"s, "dope"s, and "fresh"es.
