A little ironic since my previous post was about no ideas being original. A Bathing Ape is infamous for making ideas out of ideas - some loosely..some blatant. Well...mostly blatant..but sshhh I digress. This time they've put a spin on the Stan Smith model - another legendary shoe given the shootin' star treatment. Just goes to show, if you're gonna idea-pinch...execute it properly...enter the "A Bathing Ape Squash Bapesta".
Now this I like. This I really like. No matter what direction the public opinion of A Bathing Ape has taken over the past 18 months or so, you can't front on these. Why do I like them? Brings back that old feeling of seeing a new Bape product and not mentally envisioning Weezy Fuckin' Baby in them - these are clean as hell and a must buy for us true Bape heads...
As long as the Mighty Ape hands me little treasures like the one above while pitching bait shit to the bandwagon jumping brand whores of today...it's still a selection for one of the best brands of our generation.
Message to the real Bape heads:
"see guys, Nigo still takes care of us..."
